Earth Science Challenge - Photograph Palm Island

Palm islands are artificial islands created off the coasts of Dubai in the Middle East. Viewed from the ISS, the beauty of their design becomes clear: they look like palm trees with a trunk and leaves. This new land reclaimed from the sea by human technology and enterprise, shows how humans can build new places to live on in this ever more crowded globe.
