Earth Science Challenge - Photograph Louisiana
In 2005 Hurricane Katrina devastated the areas around New Orleans. The hurricane first hit Florida then strengthened as it crossed the Gulf of Mexico before hitting New Orleans in Louisiana. New Orleans suffered as the sea walls, the levees, collapsed and the surge waters rolled over neighbourhoods, lingering for weeks. Richard photographed New Orleans from the ISS to help give a better view of how the amazing city was recovering.
